TUI also announced it’s intention to cut 3,600 jobs, which is part of TUI’s effort to cut it’s costs by € 250 million($ 327 million). € 150 million will come from materials and € 100 million from personnel. According to TUI, up to 3,300 jobs could be created in certain segments by 2008.
TUI’s aviation division also announced plans to merge TUI’s airline units into one brand, which will be called TUIfly.com. Hapag-Fly and Hapag-Lloyd Express will be the first airlines to merge under the new brand, with the other TUI airlines following in 2008.
