Gotta love St. Barts. That gravel section where the guy in the scooter is in this photo is a great place to sit and watch. The planes land into the prevailing wind and execute a steep approach after clearing the top of a hill. They are on the verge of a stall and there have been cases where they screwed up and crashed into the hillside instead of clearing it. The departure end in the distance crosses a nice beach with warning signs to look both ways before you cross the strip of sand at the end of the runway. I've seen fully loaded aircraft low enough to hit you on that section of beach.
