2005 was a record breaking year for Boeing's aircraft manufacturing division. Orders were up significantly over 2004 with a total of 1002 orders throughout 2005. The Boeing 737 platform once again proved the most sought airframe for Boeing with 569 ordered throughout the year. Demand was also strong for the 777 and 787 with orders at 154 and 235 respectively. The record yeaar was largely due to large orders from RyanAir (84), JAL (72), AirIndia (68), ILFC (48), and GOL (48). The newly lauched 787 saw 21 airlines place orders, with the largest coming from JAL (30), AirIndia (27), and ILFC (20).
